Applicants may complete the online application form on the Government of India OCI portal https://ociservices.gov.in/ and note down the Application Registration Number (ARN) which will be in the form of AUSS************.  Kindly make sure to upload all the supporting documents that you are sending to VFS Global on the Government of India OCI online portal as well.Once filled, take a printout of the filled application form.

Thereafter, proceed to the VFS website https://services.vfsglobal.com/aus/en/ind/apply-oci-services for completing the application process for submission through VFS Global which is the outsourced agency to accept/verify/forward OCI applications to the Consulate. Kindly note that the Consulate does not accept OCI applications directly. Please send the completed application along with all the supporting documents to VFS who will forward the applications to the Consulate after scrutinizing and verifying all the documents. The checklist of all the documents which are to be sent with the application is provided on VFS Global’s website.

*Kindly note that OCI applications under Foreign Spouse Category will only be accepted after a personal interview with the applicant and his/her spouse.

Things to remember while submitting OCI applications:

• While filling out the OCI online application form, applicants must make sure that all their details match with their foreign passport (given name, surname, passport number, date of birth etc.).
• If there are any changes in the applicants’ name from their previously held Indian passports, they must enter their previous name as per their Indian passports on the application form. They are also required to submit a copy of name change court order or notarized affidavit mentioning their different names on their different documents (Indian passport, foreign passport, Naturalization Certificate etc.) belong to the same person who is applying for OCI.
• Applicants must upload all the documents which you are sending with your application to VFS on the Government of India’s OCI portal (https://ociservices.gov.in/welcome).
• Only in the case of update of passport particulars online under OCI Misc Services, physical application is not required and all documents are to be uploaded online.
